That's where the good points end in its presentation as the other aspects seem rushed and sloppy. The graphics do look quite nice, with a hand-drawn cartoonish style that looks great in SVGA. This doesn't go according to plan as you're soon plunged headfirst into a caper that sees you travelling the world. At first you only play as Doug as he plans to steal the Czar's crown on display at a museum. The three leads return Doug Nuts, the international thief, Donna Fatale his top-heavy love interest and Dino Fagioli the muscular lunk who's overdosed on steroids. The demo is slightly unstable and may crash if you left-click on the screen right after the start, so make sure you right-click to open the commands menu first.Big Red Adventure came to our PC screens in the middle of 1995, bringing with it a mildly political sense of humour as it lampoons communist Russia. All is accomplished via a simple mouse interface. For example, if you want to leave the hotel you need to give your room key to the porter. As usual for the genre, you must solve numerous puzzles by finding and combining items (some can be bought from vendors, but your purse is not bottomless!), and talking to other characters. The game starts with Doug in his hotel room, pondering on how to by museum security to steal the crown. Hilarity ensues as you explore the caricature version of Moscow and its surroundings, and eventually reunite with Dino and Donna, the other two protagonists of the previous Dynabyte Software game, Nippon Safes Inc. The main character, Doug, is an intelligent high-profile burglar who poses as a tourist to steal the precious crown of Ivan the Terrible (called Ivan the Horrible in the game) from the Kremlin Museum. The Big Red Adventure is a Lucas Arts style point-and-click adventure game drawn in an exaggerated cartoonish style, and set in the early 90s Russia sometime after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
